When did the journey of Alexandra’s mixed-medium artwork begin? Alexandra was living in Frankston South in Victoria, Australia. On one of her morning walks in 2013, a tree spoke to her that it was getting cut down the following day. The elemental Paper bark Tree went about telling its’ story of trees & how Humans forgot about them. The first mixed medium artwork was in 2016 portrayed in Art 4 where the journey began.
How are the Mixed Medium Art creations achieved? These art pieces are from a collection of sand, stone, shell, nuts, twigs, and paper bark mixed with acrylic and resin glue to create textured visual spirit artwork. Mixed medium art with paper bark can only be done 6 months of the year due to weather conditions. The sun dries the natural ingredients with the resin glue without damage to the bark or discoloration. It takes 6 to 8 weeks to dry in different stages of the creation. These are Individualistic & Unique mixed medium Art Storytelling from The First Nation Ancestral land of Australia.
